NWSL MVP: LAUREN HOLIDAY
FC Kansas City midfielder adds Most Valuable Player along side Golden Boot

(Aug. 27, 2013) - FC Kansas City midfielder Lauren Holiday was voted the National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL) Most Valuable Player for the 2013 NWSL season. 

 
Western New York Flash forward Abby Wambach finished second in the voting, while Chicago Red Stars midfielder Lori Chalupny was third. 
 
The Indianapolis native led the league in both goals (12) and assists (9). She also ranked fourth in shots (63) and shots on goal (31) while helping FC Kansas City to 38 points and second place in the NWSL standings. 
 
The UCLA product played every minute of her 18 appearances and was named NWSL Player of the Month for June and NWSL Player of the Week for 18 (ending Aug. 4). 
 
The U.S. international scored against all seven other teams in the league, with her five goals against Portland Thorns FC the most she scored against any single opponent. 
 
Holiday set a NWSL record by registering at least a goal or an assist in 10 consecutive games. See below for a complete list of games during the streak:
