Portland Thorns FC midfielder Amandine Henry has been named to France’s roster for July’s UEFA Women’s Euro tournament in the Netherlands.
The 2015 FIFA Women’s World Cup Silver Ball winner scored the first goal of her NWSL career in the 5th minute of Portland’s 2-0 win over Boston on Saturday.
France, currently ranked No. 3 in the world, has never made it past the quarterfinals of the tournament. The team will play its first match of the tournament July 18 vs. Iceland. France recently won the SheBelieves Cup, defeating the United States 3-0 in the final game.
