Australia head coach Alen Stajcic has called up 25 players to the preliminary roster ahead of this month’s Algarve Cup in Portugal, the Westfield Matildas announced on Tuesday. Twenty-two players will be named to the final roster before the tournament begins.

The Algarve Cup runs February 28 through March 7. Australia will play Norway in their opening game on the 28th. They will then take on Portugal on March 2 and China PR on March 5.

Several of the NWSL’s most recent signings are on the roster for the tournament. The signings of defender Ellie Carpenter (Portland Thorns FC), midfielder Emily van Egmond (Orlando Pride) and midfielder Katrina Gorry (Utah Royals FC) were all announced just this week.

Forward Caitlin Foord (Portland Thorns FC) will not be with Australia for the tournament after undergoing surgery to repair a ruptured lisfranc ligament in her foot. Her rights were acquired by the Thorns from Sky Blue FC in an offseason trade.

Next month, Australia will host Thailand on March 26. After that, they’ll take part in the AFC Women’s Asian Cup from April 7-22, which also serves as their qualifying tournament for the 2019 FIFA Women’s World Cup.

Australia preliminary roster for the Algarve Cup:

Laura Alleway, Mackenzie Arnold, Hannah Brewer, Tameka Butt, Eliza Campbell, Ellie Carpenter (Portland Thorns FC), Steph Catley (Seattle Reign FC), Alex Chidiac, Emily Condon, Caitlin Cooper, Larissa Crummer (Seattle Reign FC), Lisa De Vanna, Emily Gielnik, Katrina Gorry (Utah Royals FC), Michelle Heyman, Elise Kellond-Knight, Alanna Kennedy (Orlando Pride), Sam Kerr (Chicago Red Stars), Chloe Logarzo, Clare Polkinghorne, Hayley Raso (Portland Thorns FC), Kyah Simon (Houston Dash), Emily van Egmond (Orlando Pride), Lydia Williams (Seattle Reign FC)
