Canada roster named for friendly vs. Brazil

Canada head coach Kenneth Heiner-Møller has named the roster for the upcoming friendly with Brazil, Canada Soccer announced on Wednesday. Canada will meet Brazil on Sunday, September 2, at TD Place Stadium in Ottawa (2 p.m. ET).

The roster features ten NWSL players: Sabrina D’Angelo (North Carolina Courage), Lindsay Agnew (Houston Dash), Allysha Chapman (Houston Dash), Shelina Zadorsky (Orlando Pride), Rebecca Quinn (Washington Spirit), Diana Matheson (Utah Royals FC), Desiree Scott (Utah Royals FC), Adriana Leon (Seattle Reign FC), Nichelle Prince (Houston Dash) and Christine Sinclair (Portland Thorns FC).

The last time these teams met, Canada beat Brazil for the bronze medal at the 2016 Olympics in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Canada is currently ranked fifth in the world rankings and Brazil is ranked seventh.

It’s the last game for Canada before the 2018 Concacaf Women’s Championship in October, the federation’s qualifying tournament for the 2019 FIFA Women’s World Cup in France.
