Sky Blue FC forward Leah Galton is leaving the NWSL and has signed with FC Bayern Munich in Germany, Galton and Sky Blue announced Friday.
After being drafted in the second round of the 2016 NWSL College Draft, Galton spent the past two seasons in New Jersey and scored five goals and five assists in 30 games.
“Sky Blue FC has been not only my team, but also my family for the past two seasons. The decision to leave was by far the hardest I have had to make in my career to date,” Galton said in a Sky Blue FC news release.
“Thank you to the Sky Blue FC players, coaches, staff and fans who welcomed me into the team fresh out of college and helped me grow over the past two seasons. I will always be very grateful. I wish the girls all the best this season and look forward to watching Sky Blue FC challenge for the playoffs. Beez up!”
