North Carolina suffered its first loss of the season as the Orlando Pride topped the Courage 3-1 at Orlando City Stadium. The Courage had been a perfect 4-0-0 coming into the game. The win for the Pride was their first of the season.

Through five weeks of the season, the Pride are the only team to score a goal versus the Courage, and they’ve done so four times.

Pride forward Chioma Ubogagu kicked off the scoring in the 49th minute off an assist from Ali Krieger. Just one minute later, the Pride scored again, as Jamia Fields found Camila, who scored her second goal of the season — both against the Courage — to put Orlando up 2-0.

But — one minute later — North Carolina struck back as Debinha scored her second goal off the season.

Courage defender and captain Abby Erceg earned her second yellow card of the game in the 57th minute and North Carolina was forced to finish the match with 10 players on the field.

In the 87th minute, Marta assisted on the game’s final goal, finding second half sub Jasmyne Spencer in the box to seal the 3-1 win.
