Utah Royals FC’s Kelley O’Hara was kept out of NWSL Week 2 action with a hamstring injury, and on Sunday it was announced that the defender has been ruled off of the U.S. women’s national team roster for the upcoming friendlies against Mexico on April 5 and 8.
O’Hara played a full 90 minutes in Utah Royals FC’s inaugural match against the Orlando Pride on March 24, however she went on the injury report ahead of Week 2. USWNT head coach Jill Ellis has called-up two players to the training camp roster, U.S. U-23 defender Tegan McGrady and Houston Dash midfielder Haley Hanson.
Hanson was picked up by the Dash at the 2018 NWSL College Draft where she was selected seventh overall out of Nebraska. Hanson has clocked in two full 90 minute games for the Dash in her rookie season. McGrady is junior at Stanford and joins the USWNT roster alongside Cardinal teammate Tierna Davidson.
