Houston Dash goalkeeper Jane Campbell has been voted NWSL Player of the Week for Week 17 of the 2018 season by the NWSL Media Association.

Campbell’s season-high nine saves and clean sheet against the Washington Spirit helped her team earn a 1-0 result in Week 17 and improve to 6-7-5 overall with 23 points. The Dash are now in sixth place in the league standings and six points away from a playoff spot.

Campbell is second in the league in saves, with 64. She has also picked up two shutouts this season. This is the first time Campbell has earned Player of the Week honors.

Campbell had several key stops on the day, with a clean save in the 45th minute to deny Spirit midfielder Estefanía Banini‘s blast from the penalty area, and then a diving punch save in the 81st minute on Spirit forward Ashley Hatch. In 90 minutes played, she also claimed four crosses, including one saving catch, and completed one pass into the final third, according to Opta.

The NWSL Player of the Week is selected each week of the regular season by the NWSL Media Association, a collection of writers that cover the league on a consistent basis. For more information on the NWSL Media Association, follow them on Twitter.
