FC Kansas City and Portland Thorns FC battled to a 0-0 draw on Saturday at Children’s Mercy Victory Field in Kansas City, Missouri.

Portland goalkeeper Adrianna Franch made two saves to earn her third shutout of the season. Her best effort came in the 65th minute, stopping a strike from Kansas City forward Sydney Leroux.

FC Kansas City goalkeeper Nicole Barnhart also needed two saves to earn the shutout, her second of the season.

Portland had a chance to get on the board in the 90th minute, but FC Kansas City defender Yael Averbuch cleared away the ball after a scramble near the goal line.

It’s the second draw in as many games for both teams. Portland is now 2-1-2 and FC Kansas City is 1-2-2.
