Chicago Red Stars 3 | North Carolina Courage 1
  • The Chicago Red Stars scored an emphatic 3-1 victory vs. the North Carolina Courage on Sunday at SeatGeek Stadium in Bridgeview, Illinois. Sam Kerr scored twice in the match, including a strike in the 93rd minute to seal the win. The Red Stars improve to 2-1-2 with 8 points this season.
  • It’s the first loss for the Courage since the loss to Utah Royals FC in June of 2018. It’s the first loss by two goals for the Courage since May 21, another 1-3 loss to the Chicago Red Stars. The Courage had gone 15 regular season games without a loss, just shy of Reign FC‘s record of 16 set in 2014. The Courage are now 2-1-2 with 8 points on the season.
  • Kerr and Yuki Nagasato connected once again for a goal. It’s the ninth time Nagasato has assisted on a Kerr goal since the two started playing together for the Red Stars last season.
  • Lynn Williams scored the only goal of the match for the Courage. Michele Vasconcelos also scored for the Red Stars.
