Houston Dash defender Taylor Comeau announced her retirement on Wednesday. Comeau shared the news in a post on Instagram.

“I wish nothing but the best for the Houston Dash going forward. I want to thank the Dash and the NWSL for the opportunity to be a professional female athlete. I also want to thank my teammates, family, and friends for always inspiring me to get better. Lastly, I want to thank the fans for all of the constant support,” Comeau wrote.

Comeau had missed most of this season with a broken arm, the Dash said. Comeau has been in the NWSL since 2015, and has played for the Thorns, Red Stars and Dash.
