On Monday, Portland Thorns FC announced the club has added midfielder Tobin Heath to the active roster.

Heath has yet to appear for the Thorns so far this season due to a back sprain that eventually landed her on the on the 45-day disabled list.

Since 2013, Heath has earned 38 appearances and 37 starts, with her most ever coming last season. In her 14 games played in 2016, she scored one goal and tallied 10 assists, a league best which helped put her on the 2016 NWSL Best XI.

With the postseason and a home semifinal firmly in Portland’s sights for the 2017 season, Mark Parsons just welcomed back one of his team’s most important players on their quest to add a second star above the crest.

Earlier in the day, the Thorns announced that Mana Shim had been waived.
