Chicago Red Stars forward Sam Kerr has been voted the Week 11 NWSL Player of the Week by the NWSL Media Association.

Kerr scored a hat trick in Chicago’s 3-2 win over the Orlando Pride. She scored her first goal in the seventh minute, intercepting a pass and giving the Red Stars a 1-0 lead. She scored her second goal right before halftime on an assist from Yuki Nagasato to make it 2-1 in favor of the Red Stars. In the 55th minute, she scored the eventual game-winning goal to complete the hat trick.

The three goals gives her nine on the season, to lead the Golden Boot race. She has scored seven straight goals for the Red Stars, and seven goals in the last three games in which she has appeared.

Week 11 marked Kerr’s return from the 2019 FIFA Women’s World Cup.

It’s the tenth time that Kerr has won Player of the Week in her career, the most in league history.

The NWSL Player of the Week is selected each week of the regular season by the NWSL Media Association, a collection of writers that cover the league on a consistent basis. For more information on the NWSL Media Association, follow them on Twitter.
