Utah Royals FC midfielder Christen Press has been voted the Week 17 NWSL Player of the Week by the NWSL Media Association.

Press helped Utah earn two wins, a 3-0 victory over Sky Blue FC on Wednesday and a 3-1 win over Reign FC on Sunday.

During the midweek contest, Press scored a pair of goals within a two-minute span. Lo’eau LaBonta drove through midfield before slotting a pass that came off a Sky Blue defender before Press fired the ball home in the 27th minute. Two minutes later, LaBonta sent in a cross that Press volleyed past Sky Blue goalkeeper Kailen Sheridan. Press was a constant attacking threat, finishing with 11 total shots with 7 of them on target. She also had an 80.6% passing accuracy.

In the win over Reign FC, Press posed some problems again. She had three key passes and took five shots.

The NWSL Player of the Week is selected each week of the regular season by the NWSL Media Association, a collection of writers that cover the league on a consistent basis. For more information on the NWSL Media Association, follow them on Twitter.
