We had to wait a little while for the goals in Week 2 in the NWSL, but when they did, they were ones to remember. A quick look at all of this weekend’s NWSL action from eight teams. Seattle Reign FC had a bye this week.

Houston Dash vs. Utah Royals FC

In a defensive battle between the two teams, the Houston Dash and Utah Royals FC played to a 0-0 draw. Dash goalkeeper Jane Campbell made five saves to earn her first shutout of the season. Utah Royal FC centerbacks Rachel Corsie and Becky Sauerbrunn kept the Dash from registering a shot on goal. Read more

 


 

North Carolina Courage  vs. Sky Blue FC

Sky Blue FC nearly kept North Carolina’s dangerous offense off the scoreboard, but fell 1-0 thanks to a game-winning goal from Jess McDonald in the 92nd minute. The Courage are the only team that has yet concede goal this season. Read more

 

 


Washington Spirit vs. Orlando Pride

Mallory Pugh and Ashley Hatch each scored in the final ten minutes as the Washington Spirit beat the Orlando Pride. Spirit goalkeeper Aubrey Bledsoe made four saves to earn the shutout against her former team. Read more

 


Portland Thorns FC vs. Chicago Red Stars
