Nagasato scored a goal and an assist in Chicago’s 3-0 win over Reign FC on Sunday afternoon. She assisted on the opening goal in the 13th minute, laying off a pass to Casey Short, who scored from distance.
Then in the 53rd minute, Nagasato scored a long-distance goal of her own. After Sam Kerr had her initial shot block by goalkeeper Lydia Williams, who had come to the top of the penalty box to stop Kerr, Nagasato sent the rebound over the keeper and into the open net.
Nagasato finished the match with a goal, assist, one shot on target and four chances created.
It’s the second time Nagasato, now in her third season with the Red Stars, has been named Player of the Week. The first time was in Week 10 of 2018.
The NWSL Player of the Week is selected each week of the regular season by the NWSL Media Association, a collection of writers that cover the league on a consistent basis. For more information on the NWSL Media Association, follow them on Twitter.
