Week 6 Player of the Week: Sam Kerr
The Red Stars forward wins the award for the second consecutive week

Chicago Red Stars forward Sam Kerr has been voted the Week 6 NWSL Player of the Week by the NWSL Media Association.

Kerr scored twice in Chicago’s 2-1 win over the Houston Dash on Sunday, the second straight game in which she has tallied a brace. Her goals came in the 8th and 13th minutes and helped the Red Stars jump into first place in the NWSL.

It’s the ninth time that Kerr has won Player of the Week in her career, which puts her ahead of Crystal Dunn‘s eight for the most in league history.

The NWSL Player of the Week is selected each week of the regular season by the NWSL Media Association, a collection of writers that cover the league on a consistent basis. For more information on the NWSL Media Association, follow them on Twitter.
