The Netherlands beat Italy 2-0 and Sweden beat Germany 2-1 in the quarterfinals. The Netherlands and Sweden will play each other in the semifinals on Wednesday.

The Netherlands advanced to their first Women’s World Cup semifinal with a 2-0 win over Italy on Saturday on a hot afternoon in Valenciennes. After a scoreless first half, the Netherlands scored twice in the game’s final 20 minutes to earn the victory. Vivianne Miedema scored her third goal of the tournament on a header in the 70th minute. In the 80th minute, Stefanie Van Der Gragt scored a header goal to seal the win.

The Netherlands will meet Sweden in the semifinals in Lyon.

 

 

Germany 1 | Sweden 2
Sweden earned their ticket to the semifinals in Lyon, will they will face the Netherlands, with a 2-1 win over Germany on Saturday in Rennes. The win snapped an 11-game winless run for Sweden vs. Germany at major tournaments.
Lina Magull scored first in the 16th minute to give Germany an early 1-0 lead. But Sweden answered in the 22nd minute with a goal from Sofia Jakobsson. Stina Blackstenius scored the game-winning goal in the 48th minute.
