Nagasato, 29, has scored 58 goals in 132 appearances for Japan. The midfielder is a veteran of three FIFA Women’s World Cups: 2011, when Japan beat the United States in penalty kicks to win the World Cup, as well as 2007 and 2015 (2nd place). She is also a two-time Olympian, competing in 2008 and winning the silver medal in 2012. She scored three goals in the 2012 Olympics, including one in the gold medal game versus the United States.
Nagasato joins the Red Stars following her time with FFC Frankfurt where she has scored eight goals in 35 games. In 2013, she won the Golden Boot in the Bundesliga after scoring 18 goals while with FFC Turbine Potsdam. During her time with Postdam, the team won three-straight Bundesliga championships.
