Portland Thorns FC forward Hayley Raso will be out for 6-8 weeks, the Thorns announced on Monday.
Raso suffered a back injury on Saturday night in a collision with Washington Spirit goalkeeper Aubrey Bledsoe. The Thorns said Raso suffered a non-displaced fracture of the transverse processes of L2, L3 and L4.
The injury occurred in the 55th minute of Portland’s 1-0 win over Washington at Audi Field. The game marked Raso’s ninth start of the season. After earning an assist earlier in the game, Raso has two goals and two assists in 2018.
“Thank you all for the love & well wishes over the last 24 hours. Means a lot,” Raso tweeted on Sunday night.
