Portland Thorns FC scored two goals in the first five minutes and never looked back, topping the Boston Breakers 2-0 on Saturday night at Providence Park in front of a crowd of 18,637 fans.

Portland benefited from an own goal in just the first minute as Breakers defender Julie King redirected a Nadia Nadim corner kick into her own net.

Midfielder Amandine Henry doubled the score in the fifth minute, sending a low shot from outside the box past Breakers goalkeeper Abby Smith. It was the first NWSL goal for the 2015 FIFA Women’s World Cup Silver Ball winner, who joined the Thorns midway through last season.

Breakers defender Allysha Chapman was issued a straight red card in the 91st minute for a hard challenge on Thorns forward Hayley Raso.
