Kerr scored four goals and an assist in three games as the Red Stars went 2-2-0 in May. Kerr’s four goals bring her season total to six, to lead the Golden Boot race, ahead of her joining Australia for the 2019 FIFA Women’s World Cup.
Kerr’s four goals came thanks to back-to-back braces in wins over the North Carolina Courage and Houston Dash, for which she also won back-t0-back Player of the Week awards. In the win over the Courage, Kerr also added an assist and a key defensive clearance.
The NWSL Player of the Month is selected each month of the regular season by the NWSL Media Association, a collection of writers that cover the league on a consistent basis. For more information on the NWSL Media Association, follow them on Twitter.
