  • Utah Royals FC and Portland Thorns FC played to a wild 2-2 draw on Friday night at Rio Tinto Stadium in front of 15,931 fans to kick off Week 14 in the NWSL. The Thorns are now 6-2-5 with 23 points. Utah Royals FC are 5-4-3 with 18 points.
  • Portland forward Christine Sinclair and Utah forward Christen Press traded spectacular goals in the first half.
  • The game saw the returns of several U.S. women’s national team players as Lindsey Horan, Adrianna Franch, Emily Sonnett and Tobin Heath all played for Portland and Press, Becky Sauerbrunn and Kelley O’Hara returned for Utah.
  • An own goal off the foot of Sauerbrunn gave Portland the lead in the 87th minute, but Utah defender Rachel Corsie scored the game-tying goal in the 90th minute.
