The North Carolina Courage became the first team to get to six wins in the 2017 NWSL season. Rookie forward Ashley Hatch, the No. 2 overall pick in the 2017 NWSL College Draft, scored the first goal of her professional career. FCKC goalkeeper Nicole Barnhart earned her 300th career save in the loss. Courage goalkeeper Katelyn Rowland made her second start of the season and earned her second shutout, making three saves in the win.

In just her third career game, 19-year-old Spirit forward Mallory Pugh scored the first goal of her NWSL career. Washington goalkeeper Stephanie Labbé, the league-leader in saves, earned her first shutout of the season.

Marta earned, and then scored, the first penalty kick attempt (and PK conversion) in Orlando Pride history. Pride goalkeeperAubrey Bledsoe, starting in place of the injured Ashlyn Harris, posted the first shutout of the season for Orlando.

Christen Press scored and Alyssa Naeher made four saves to earn the shutout as the Red Stars took hold of second place heading into the international break. Reign goalkeeper Haley Kopmeyer made seven saves in the loss.
