The Washington Spirit have signed Chilean international forward Yanara Aedo, the club announced Tuesday, pending the receipt of her International Transfer Certificate.
Aedo was a member of the Washington Spirit Reserves in 2015 and 2016. She last played with Valencia, in Spain.
“We look forward to bringing Yanara back to the club as a fully contracted professional,” Spirit head coach and general manager Jim Gabarra said in a team press release. “She has worked tremendously hard training with our pro team and playing with the Reserves the past two seasons. Her qualities as a player will help us continue to improve and compete every week.”
Aedo made her senior international debut for Chile in 2010 at the age of 17. As a member of the Spirit Reserves, she scored both goals in a 2-1 win over the Colorado Pride in the title game as the team won the 2015 USL W-League championship.
