Isabell Herlovsen gave Norway the lead in the 31st minute. Australia pushed for an equalizer and got one in the 83rd minute. Reign FC midfielder Elise Kellond-Knight scored an Olimpico goal to push the game to extra time. In extra time, Orlando Pride defender Alanna Kennedy was issued a straight red card in the 104th minute. Australia hung on to force penalty kicks.
