FSU 1, TCU 0
On Friday night, Florida State overcame TCU after a gritty close game, holding firm against a late defensive stand from the Horned Frogs. The Seminoles controlled the tempo from the opening whistle, pinning TCU deep and forcing goalkeeper Olivia Geller into a string of early saves. Chances from Jordynn Dudley and Wrianna Hudson kept the pressure high, while TCU started to grow into the match, grabbing a few looks of their own.
In the second half, it seemed like things were trending towards the Horned Frogs when Emma Yolinsky struck the woodwork and then Seven Castain missed a wide-open net but Florida State reasserted control. Their efforts finally broke through minutes after Castain’s shot when Hudson, timing her run perfectly, buried a cross from Sophia Nguyen, giving FSU the lead it had been building toward all night.
The final moment belonged to Florida State goalkeeper Kate Ockene, who denied Castain on a point-blank chance in the final seconds to seal the clean sheet. The Seminoles will now play for their fifth national championship on Monday.
Stanford 1, Duke 0
In the second semifinal match of the night, Stanford edged Duke 1–0 behind an early moment of brilliance from Jasmine Aikey. Aikey struck in the ninth minute, cutting in from the left and curling a perfect finish past goalkeeper Caroline Dysart, who had not conceded a goal all tournament. From there, the Cardinal defense settled in, limiting Duke’s transition moments and absorbing pressure with the calm of a program accustomed to this stage.
Dysart kept Duke alive with three key saves, but the Blue Devils struggled to break down Stanford’s back line and failed to find the equalizer. Stanford extended its unbeaten streak to 17 and secured its 13th College Cup final appearance.
Florida State and Stanford will now meet for the national championship title on Monday night at 7pm ET // 4pm PT on ESPNU. It’s a rematch of the 2023 NCAA College Cup final game where FSU defeated Stanford 5-1.
