Dash defender Amber Brooks will return to Houston. Brooks and the team agreed to a new contract, the Dash announced Thursday. Brooks was one of six players to play every minute in 2017, her second season with the Dash. She made 102 clearances and 57 interceptions in her 24 games. She also recently joined the Dash at the 2018 NWSL College Draft, sitting at the team’s table alongside new coach Vera Pauw and assistant coach Lisa Cole. >

It was a great and memorable experience having the opportunity to go behind the scenes and sit at our draft table. A table with two new female coaches who I think and hope can change the culture of our "undesirable" club and help our team find success. Along with a coach who I have entrusted with my career since 2007 and look up to as one of the finer human beings in my life. I am one of 200 women playing in the NWSL, a growing league with a ways to go, but it was a proud moment to be able to write/submit our 2018 draftees names and be present to hear our new coach inform them that the first step of their dream has come true! The fun begins in one month ?? #DashTFOn
