Annie Karich Becomes First-Ever Signing for Boston Legacy FC

Boston Legacy FC has officially signed its first player, adding U.S. midfielder Annie Karich on a multi-year deal through 2027, with an option for 2028. The 21-year-old defensive midfielder joins as a free agent from SC Freiburg in the Frauen-Bundesliga, where she made 36 appearances over two seasons.

Before turning pro, Karich played at Santa Clara University, earning West Coast Conference Defensive Player of the Year honors in 2023. She has also represented the U.S. at the U-15 through U-23 levels and was part of the 2022 U-20 Women’s World Cup roster.

Boston Legacy General Manager Domè Guasch said the signing reflects the club’s long-term vision.

“Annie is a midfielder that brings a unique blend of technical quality and tactical awareness,” said Guasch. “In her time at SC Freiburg, she has also proved her competitiveness and maturity on the field. Annie has the potential to make a real impact in our team. We’re looking forward to supporting her development within our environment.”

Karich is currently on loan to a Liga MX Femenil club to be announced later for the remainder of 2025. With the recent announcement of their coach, Filipa Patão, and Karich’s signing, Boston Legacy FC takes its first steps toward building a competitive team to field in the 2026 season.
