Claire Hutton surprises new Current teammate and "bestie" Ally Sentnor at Kansas City airport

Kansas City Current fans were ecstatic with last Friday’s news. Their team made a splashy trade for Ally Sentnor, bringing the 2024 U.S. Young Female Player of the Year to an already commanding offense.

The only one more excited might just have been Claire Hutton.

Picking up someone from the airport is a different kind of love, but it is nothing when it’s your best friend. When Sentnor touched down in Kansas City, Hutton was waiting at the airport with a homemade sign.

“Welcome home, bestie,” the sign read, complete with the Current logo.

Hutton and Sentnor are rising stars both in the NWSL and on the U.S. Women’s National Team, and now, they are teammates again.

In a sweet video shared on social media, Sentnor walks through the sliding doors to see Hutton holding a sign.

“Bestie!” she said, as she breaks into a run to meet her friend.

“You’re so cute. Oh my god,” she said.

Hutton and Sentnor laugh and jump around as they hug.

“This is the best ever,” Hutton said in disbelief. “We’re teammates,” Sentnor said in the same shock.

It’s a moment of giddy girlhood at its finest. While the newly reunited teammates are all smiles, surely, the Current’s opponents are less thrilled at the idea of yet another lethal player to mark.
