Astute NWSL fans may have noticed something about the Week 10 schedule: neither Gotham nor the Thorns are slotted to play.

Well, both teams are competing this week, just not in league play. Instead, they will be playing in the Confederation of North, Central America and Caribbean Association Football (CONCACAF) Women's Championship Cup semifinals on May 21. Both NWSL teams will face off against teams from Mexico. Gotham will play Club América, while the Thorns will play Tigres Femenil.

The inaugural competition was announced back in March 2024, with the group stages starting in August and concluding in October.

The San Diego Wave also made it up to the final group stage, but were ultimately knocked out by Club América.

The championship game will take place on Saturday, May 24 at 10 p.m. ET, and the match for third place will take place earlier that day at 7 p.m. ET.

Gotham faces off against Club América tonight at 7:30 p.m. ET, and the Thorns play Tigres Femenil at 10:30 p.m. ET. You can watch both games on Paramount+.
