Seattle Reign FC goalkeeper Haley Kopmeyer was named Player of the Week by the NWSL Media Association for Week 1 of the 2017 NWSL season. Kopmeyer held Sky Blue FC in check on Saturday night in Seattle, making eight saves. She kept the game scoreless in the first half, stopping six shots as Sky Blue FC pressured early. Called upon in the 90th minute, she was also up to the task, punching away an attempt by Maya Hayes. She very nearly stopped Sarah Killion’s second half PK attempt, as well.
