Orlando earned a tough point on the road in Seattle, but Pride goalkeeper Ashlyn Harris’ injury was the main storyline of the 1-1 draw in front of 4,037 fans at Memorial Stadium.Following a goal kick in the 24th minute, Harris went down with an apparent hip injury and had to be subbed out. Newly signed goalkeeper Caroline Stanley entered the match for Harris. Stanley was signed earlier in the week as regular backup goalkeeper Aubrey Bledsoe is out with a concussion. Stanley started her NWSL career with Seattle in 2015 before spending last year with Sky Blue FC. Seattle took the lead in the 40th minute following a Megan Rapinoe corner kick. After an initial clearance, Rapinoe served it back into the box. Stanley tried to punch it away, but it fell to Seattle’s Rachel Corsie. The defender took a shot that was blocked, but the ball bounced to forward Beverly Yanez who kicked it past Stanley for the 1-0 lead. Orlando came out strong in the second half, immediately forcing Seattle Reign FC goalkeeper Haley Kopmeyer to make several stops, including a diving save on a shot by Pride forward Marta shot in the 51st minute. Marta would get her revenge a minute later as Pride midfielder Camila forced a turnover on a pass from Kopmeyer. Marta raced onto the loose ball and sent it past Kopmeyer to make it 1-1. Both teams kept pressing for the rest of the second half, but neither was able to break through. Stanley stopped a header from forward Katlyn Johnson following a Rapinoe free kick in the 79th and a header from Jess Fishlock following another Rapinoe free kick in the 93rd minute.
