[**Lindsey Horan**](https://www.nwslsoccer.com/players/view/6ywkny98b9qzuvhqxwn9l0ogl) and [**Amandine Henry**](https://www.nwslsoccer.com/players/view/3c765kc3b4cmgie0qf84jh1hx) scored as Portland Thorns FC beat the Houston Dash 2-0 on Saturday night at Providence Park in Portland, Oregon. The crowd of 19,762 is the highest attendance of the season for the Thorns. With the win, the Thorns (10-5-4, 34 points) will stay in second place for another week, as they are five points clear of the Red Stars, who play on Sunday. The Dash fell to 7-10-2 with the loss and their 23 points are six points behind the Pride and Red Stars, who hold the last two playoff spots. Horan struck first for the Thorns, scoring in the 14th minute to put Portland up 1-0. The midfielder started the play near midfield, sending a cross to the left wing as [**Meghan Klingenberg**](https://www.nwslsoccer.com/players/view/bnnc9csv7qrc2xgx7yzgxlcr9) made a run upfield. Horan then made her way into the penalty box as Klingenberg sent a cross in. Horan headed it down and past Dash goalkeeper [**Jane Campbell**](https://www.nwslsoccer.com/players/view/53uflfknc5uus7iqw3obp5fx1) for the score. It’s the fourth goal of the season for Horan and the fifth assist of 2017 for Klingenberg. [Empty Body] The Dash thought they had equalized in the 34th minute when [**Poliana**](https://www.nwslsoccer.com/players/view/5fkw18yxmk3wccr46kjtoz5xx) headed in a cross by [**Amber Brooks**](https://www.nwslsoccer.com/players/view/4aix0gos55qf4mdpld547ek7p), but Poliana was ruled offside on the play. [Empty Body] The Thorns nearly doubled the lead in the 42nd minute when Henry sent a pass to [**Christine Sinclair**](https://www.nwslsoccer.com/players/view/cfx9wllh2x6ozkvqxusa3sl3p), wide-open at the top of the penalty box. Sinclair took a quick right-footed shot but her effort bounced off the crossbar. The rebound came back into the area, but Poliana was able to dribble the ball out of danger. [Empty Body] In the 48th minute, the Thorns would make it 2-0. Sinclair evaded pressure in the box, and dropped the ball off to Henry, standing right at the penalty spot. Henry’s left-footed shot through traffic forced a diving save from Campbell. The rebound went out to the left wing where [**Nadia Nadim**](https://www.nwslsoccer.com/players/view/a9ds5lw4ekhfjzmlpax91mdw5) was able to chase it down for the Thorns. Nadim quickly crossed it right back into the box where Henry headed it past Campbell. Just nine seconds after the initial save, Henry had scored her second goal of the week and third of the season. It’s the eighth shutout of the season for Franch, just two shy of the NWSL record of 10 in one season. Dash forward [**Rachel Daly**](https://www.nwslsoccer.com/players/view/amg2zai9038cdz9uuql3l9rkl) was sent off in the 79th minute. On a Dash free kick that was sent in the box, Daly appeared to raise her left arm and make contact with Thorns defender [**Emily Sonnett**](https://www.nwslsoccer.com/players/view/3aj7p478dcuat6tz8096sq8dl)’s face. The game featured six yellow cards in addition to the straight red to Daly. The Thorns next play the Reign on the road in Seattle on Saturday afternoon. The Dash will host the first-place Courage on Sunday night.
