The North Carolina Courage and the Orlando Pride each announced team-led initiatives to provide critical support for communities affected by Hurricane Helene and Hurricane Milton.
In the wake of Hurricane Helene, which hit western North Carolina and northwest Florida in September, North Carolina announced a partnership with the United Way aimed at helping local counties hit hardest by the storm. In addition to donating a signification portion of their revenue from ticket sales, merchandise, and concessions at their October 5 match against San Diego, the club is encouraging those who would like to make contributions to relief efforts online to donate here. Fans may also make a donation by texting U-W HELPS N-C to 91999.
Alongside its MLS counterpart, Orlando City SC, the Pride announced on October 19 that the Wilf Family Foundations had made a combined contribution of $450,000 toward hurricane relief efforts, which includes $350,000 to the American Red Cross and $100,000 to Heart of Florida United Way (HFUW), the team's charity partner.
The Pride are encouraging fans to donate to Hurricane Recovery Fund or text INSPIRE to 85511 to support Central Florida in the aftermath of Hurricane Milton. The fund is intended to be used for residents of Orange, Osceola, and Seminole counties who need assistance obtaining basic needs and essential supplies.
