An already lethal Kansas City Current offense just got even stronger.
The Utah Royals have traded Ally Sentnor to Kansas City for $600,000 in intraleague transfer funds, spread over three years, as well as a conditional $100,000 in transfer funds and an additional sell-on clause for any future transfer. Sentnor was selected first overall in what became the final NWSL Draft before the league transitioned to a new player acquisition model.
Through a season and a half with the Royals, Sentnor has notched four goals, but has continually impressed on the international level. The 2024 U.S. Soccer Young Female Player of the Year, Sentnor captained the U.S. team that earned bronze in the FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup.
She earned her first cap for the U.S. Women’s National Team in November against England at Wembley Stadium, and Sentnor scored her first goal for her country during the SheBelieves Cup in February.
The trade comes on the heels of Current midfielder Vanessa DiBernardo announcing her pregnancy, which puts her on the SEI list.
In return for Sentnor, the Royals will receive $300,000 intra-league transfers funds in 2025, $200k in 2026 intra-league transfers funds, and $100k in 2027 intra-league transfer funds. They could also earn an additional conditional $100,000 based on performances.
