**Tacoma****, ****Washington**** ****– **The OL Reign picked up their first win of the 2021 Challenge Cup with a 3-2 victory over the visiting Chicago Red Stars. With early chances from both teams, the game looked like there were goals in it, but both sides looked like they would fail to find the net. However, late in the half, Mal Pugh would score her first Red Stars goal with a left footed strike that beat Karen Bardsley. Sofia Huerta would answer the bell with a laser strike of her own to level the score at 1-1 heading into half. The fabled NWSL After Dark vibes were apparent as the half started with a flurry of opportunities. Substitute Tziarra King took a neatly threaded through ball from Sofia Huerta and found Leah Pruitt who slotted home to give Reign the lead. King then found a goal of her own to extend the lead 3-1. Morgan Gautrat scored one of the goals of the season in stoppage time, but it was not enough as OL Reign ended the match victorious With Chicago’s Challenge Cup ending with a 0-2-2 record. OL Reign will conclude their Challenge Cup campaign when they travel to Kansas City (0-2-1) for the last game of the season before the May 8 final. That match will take place on Paramount + with a 8pm ET kickoff.
