Houston Dash vs. OL Reign

Houston, Texas – The Houston Dash (4-3-1 13 points) did not let an hour weather delay slow them down as they defeated the visiting OL Reign (2-5-1 seven points) by a score of 2-0.

After a scoreless first half, Houston jumped out to the 1-0 lead early in the second half after Shea Groom sent a through ball that found Jasmyne Spencer who was one on one with the goalkeeper and fired it into the back of the net. Spencer, the former OL Reign member scored in the 50'. The Dash would use the momentum after the goal to strike again in the 57' when Katie Naughton leaped over the defenders and headed the loose ball past the goalkeeper to give Houston the 2-0 lead. Houston's Jane Campbell did not disappoint the fans in her last game before she heads to Tokyo as she made four incredible saves to earn the shutout.

In all competitions, Houston is unbeaten in its last 10 home matches (6-0-4). Houston’s home unbeaten streak is the longest active such streak in NWSL competitions and the longest in club history.

Sunday, July 11 will be the next match for Houston when they travel to take on the Chicago Red Stars at 6:00 PM ET. The Reign will head home to host Kansas City on Sunday, July 11 with kickoff at 7:00 PM ET. Both games can be seen on Paramount +.
