Kansas City vs. North Carolina Courage

Kansas City, Kansas – The first ever match up between the two clubs featured several chances and great defense as the host, Kansas City (0-7-4, four points) battled to a 0-0 draw against North Carolina 5-4-2 (17 points).

Yesterday, the two teams agreed on a trade that featured four different players. Click here for more info on that trade. North Carolina had a great opportunity in the 29' to score as they had an empty net chance that was thwarted by Kansas City's Kristen Edmonds who deflected the ball away on her own goal line.

Hailie Mace, almost scored late for Kansas City as she had a run down the left side in the 86' where she tried to beat the keeper but just missed the back right of the net.

North Carolina will now head back home to take on the Orlando Pride at 7:00 PM ET on Saturday, July 31. Up next for Kansas City will be a two-game away stand as they will first travel to Portland to take on the Thorns on Sunday, August 1 with kickoff at 3:00 PM ET.
