Swifties, assemble!!

That’s right. Taylor Swift announced her 12th studio album, “The Life of a Showgirl” this week, and that means one thing for certain: it’s all the internet is talking about.

Here at the NWSL, we are only human, waiting with baited breath for the release of TS12. Until then, teams across the league celebrated in their own ways.

The number 13 holds a lot of lore in the Swiftaverse. It’s her favorite number and pops up everywhere in her infamous Easter eggs. For NWSL fans, it represents something different: Alex Morgan, who rocked No.13 on her back throughout her career.

Almost exactly six years ago, Morgan and Swift posed for a picture together at the Fox Teen’s Choice Awards. That fateful August 11, 2019, Morgan wore a sparkly orange dress, matching the aesthetic of Swift’s newest album.

She really is a mastermind.

Kansas City: home of the Current, legendary barbecue, and Taylor Swift’s boyfriend, Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce. If anyone is ready to usher in the next era, it’s the Current.

CPKC Stadium lit up orange in honor of the album announcement, and who else but KillaTrav was in the comments hyping it up.

With the official orange color coding of the era, the Dash got into the mix with their own No. 12 – Kiki Van Zanten.

With a showgirl of their own, Gotham shared pictures of the one and only Midge Purce and her sidequests. From a Broadway moment to late night talk shows, Purce is the definition of a showgirl.

Finally, the Boston Legacy entered the chat. Life of a Showswan has a nice ring to it, too. Let’s not forget, the Legacy are playing their first season at Gillette Stadium, a place where the Swiftie history runs deep.

Not only was it her first stadium concert ever, it was the scene of the “rainiest rain show to ever rain showed, ever, ever, ever” during the 2023 leg of the Eras Tour.
