There's nothing like a fresh kit drop. When it's the very first, well, that makes it all the more special.
Both the Denver Summit and Boston Legacy revealed their debut primary kits heading into their inaugural seasons. The expansion teams are setting the tone for their clubs and cities, and as it turns out, green is the name of the game.
DENVER SUMMIT
The Summit's Inaugural Evergreen Kit is a love letter to the city the team calls home. The crisp, clean green is an ode to the forests of the Rocky Mountains, symbolizing both the endurance of the landscape and the people of Colorado.
The blue striping with a sage accent tie in that Mile High sky and it's year-round sunshine and Colorado's desert plains.
The Summit hosted a launch party at Union Station in downtown Denver on February 23 to celebrate, included players Ally Brazier (Watt) and Kaleigh Kurtz, owner Robert Cohen, and the Colorado Symphony.
BOSTON LEGACY
On the other side of the country, Boston is beginning to write the Legacy. The First Light Kit is a clean, simple look that establishes the foundation for all that is to come.
The name, First Light, signifies the start of the club's inaugural season and a new day dawning in Boston.
In a video narrated by actress Elizabeth Banks, a part owner of the club, the scene is set with shots of Boston.
"Say hello to soccer's newest threat and Boston's newest threads," Banks said.
Anything feels possible with a fresh start and a fresh kit. It's only a matter of time before NWSL see who the Summit and Legacy will become, but we all know they're going to look great in green writing that first chapter.
