Community Partner: Nick of Time Foundation
Cassie has chosen the Nick of Time Foundation as the Reign’s community partner. They provide heart screenings for youth — a cause that is very close to Cassie because of her own experience with heart complications growing up, including a few heart surgeries. Undetected heart conditions are the leading cause of death in young athletes on the playing field, and Nick of Time works to prevent this through early detection, CPR training, and education to raise awareness. In the past, Cassie had the honor of representing Nationwide for a similar initiative, and it was an amazing experience. She would be grateful for the chance to do it again — this time proudly representing the Reign and making a positive impact in our community.
The Nick of Time Foundation is a local nonprofit organization that is dedicated to preventing sudden cardiac arrest in young people, especially student athletes. They provide free or low-cost youth heart screenings to detect hidden heart conditions that often go unnoticed but can lead to sudden cardiac death on the playing field.
In addition to screenings, they offer CPR and AED education and training, helping to increase community awareness and empower people to respond quickly in an emergency. Through early detection and education, Nick of Time is working to save lives and create safer environments for young athletes across Washington.
Cassie has nominated the Nick of Time Foundation because their mission is deeply personal to her. Growing up, she faced heart complications and underwent several heart surgeries, so she understands firsthand how important early detection and awareness are.
