Katie Zelem is a midfielder who signed with Angel City FC in August, 2024. Since
joining the club, she appeared in 15 matches, earning one goal and one assist in 944
minutes played.
She previously played for Manchester United and signed in the club’s inaugural season
in 2018. As captain, she led the team to promotion from the Championship to the
Women’s Super League after their first season. In her six years with United, Zelem
recorded 32 goals and 46 assists in 161 match appearances. In 2023–2024, her final
season with the Red Devils, the team won the FA Cup. Zelem holds the all-time WSL
record for assists off of set pieces.
Previously, she played with Juventus, winning Serie A in the team’s inaugural season,
after spending her first two seasons as a pro with Liverpool and helping that team to two
WSL titles.
Zelem represented England from the U-15 through U-23 levels, earning her first call up
to the senior England team in 2021.
Off the pitch, Zelem is finishing up an MBA sports program at Longford International
University, completing her UEFA B license, and is a level 3 personal trainer with a goal
to coach youth athletes.
