The Washington Spirit topped Portland Thorns FC 1-0 on Saturday night in front of a crowd of 4,319 fans at Maureen Hendricks Field at the Maryland SoccerPlex on the Spirit Squadron’s Pride Night in Maryland. The win extended the Spirit’s unbeaten streak to three games It’s Washington’s second-ever win over Portland first since 2015. The Thorns held the majority of possession, but could only force three shots on goal in the match. The Spirit improved to 3-5-2 with 11 points following the win. The Thorns are now 4-3-3 with 15 points.
