Adrianna Franch has been voted Player of the Week for Week 14 of the 2018 season by the NWSL Media Association.The Portland Thorns FC goalkeeper made 11 saves on the week, catching three against Sky Blue FC on Wednesday, and then making eight against Seattle Reign FC on Saturday. Franch and the Thorns were 0-1-1 in Week 14 — earning a 1-1 draw against Sky Blue midweek and then falling to Seattle Reign FC 1-0 over the weekend. Franch’s highlight performance came against the Reign where she stopped their buzzing offense on several occasions Saturday night. Franch made a crucial kick-save in the box in the 39th minute. Later in the match she came up big again when in the 87th minute Reign FC forward Megan Rapinoe lofted a shot towards the upper-right corner. Franch read the play and was able to snag it out of the air to keep it scoreless. This is the first time Franch has been honored as NWSL Player of the Week.
