They remain tied on points with the Red Stars for third place, but hold the fourth playoff spot because the first tie-breaker is the head-to-head record between the two teams. The loss snapped a three game winning streak for FC Kansas City (6-9-5, 23 points), and drops them to nine points out of the fourth and final playoff spot. Morgan has now scored in five straight games and has eight goals in her last seven games. It’s the sixth assist of the season for Marta, second best in the league.
