If you noticed a bit of razzle dazzle during the Spirit and Racing matchup, you aren’t alone. Prime Video broadcaster Mike Watts brought extra flare to his calls in honor of the one and only Taylor Swift.
After Swift broke the internet with the announcement of her 12th studio album, “The Life of a Show Girl,” it dominated the culture, and the NWSL is no exception. Leave it to Watts to get in on the fun.
He planted the seeds by dropping “Wish List” before kickoff, but astute fans clocked his second reference, “The Fate of Ophelia.” As the game went on, Watts name-dropped every track on her new album seamlessly.
Some tracks were easier to work into conversation naturally than others, but somehow Watts found a way to include songs like “Actually Romantic,” “Elizabeth Taylor,” and “Ruin the Friendship.”

This isn’t the first time Watts has challenged himself to include Swift’s tracklists in his commentary. When “The Tortured Poets Department” was released in 2024, he masterfully wove track names throughout his coverage – including “The Alchemy,” “My Boy Only Breaks His Favorite Toys,” and “Guilty As Sin?”
