Racing Louisville’s Bev Yanez Named October/November Coach of the Month

The second-year coach led Racing to first-ever playoff berth

NEW YORK (November 6) - The National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL) announced today that Racing Louisville’s Bev Yanez has been named Coach of the Month for the month of October/November by the NWSL Media Association and the league’s on-air broadcast talent.

In her second year at the helm of Racing, Yanez led the club to its most successful season in history, culminating in their first playoff appearance. She is the first to make the NWSL playoffs as both a player and a coach, as well as the first American woman to coach a team to the playoffs since 2013.

Racing Louisville were undefeated in the month of October, and with their win on Decision Day, they closed out the regular season with 10 wins on the season, including five wins on the road, and earning 37 total points. All are club records.

The NWSL Coach of the Month is selected by the NWSL Media Association, a collection of writers that cover the league consistently, and the NWSL’s on-air broadcast talent. Awards for the month of October/November are based on performances during regular season matches.
