Houston Dash defender Taylor Comeau announced her retirement on Wednesday. Comeau shared the news in a post on Instagram.“I wish nothing but the best for the Houston Dash going forward. I want to thank the Dash and the NWSL for the opportunity to be a professional female athlete. I also want to thank my teammates, family, and friends for always inspiring me to get better. Lastly, I want to thank the fans for all of the constant support,” Comeau wrote. Comeau had missed most of this season with a broken arm, the Dash said. Comeau has been in the NWSL since 2015, and has played for the Thorns, Red Stars and Dash. > [

I have decided to retire from professional soccer. I’m looking forward to the next step and exploring new job opportunities. For family and personal reasons I’ve decided to forgo the rest of the 2019 season. I wish nothing but the best for the Houston Dash going forward. I want to thank the Dash and the NWSL for the opportunity to be a professional female athlete. I also want to thank my teammates, family, and friends for always inspiring me to get better. Lastly, I want to thank the fans for all of the constant support. Here is a list of some of the things soccer has given/taught me.
