Her 54th-minute goal in Kansas City's win over San Diego Wave FC was her 20th of the year, pushing the Current into prime playoff position with one week left.
Chawinga’s consistency has been key to the Current’s dominance this season. As the first Malawian to play in the NWSL and the current record holder for most goals in a single season, she’s already broken barriers. With the playoffs approaching, all eyes are on her to see if she can extend her remarkable run and help take the Current all the way.
The Kansas City Current missed the playoffs last year—now they’re hosting it in Kansas City on November 9th 💪
